The stars and director of Passages (Ben Whishaw, Franz Rogowski & irasachs) discussed the themes of intimacy and betrayal that are woven into their new dramatic drama while at Sundance

Passages, directed by Ira Sachs and co-written by his creative partner Mauricio Zacharias, is a testament to how complicated a relationship with a narcissist can get. Said narcissist is the German director Tomas , who flits about to the beat of his own passionate drum despite his marriage to Martin . When he embarks on his first full-blown relationship with a woman, Agathe , all three parties suffer the consequences.

I get sent quite a lot of stories that are about gay people, or queer people; that community. And it's still relatively rare that you get to work with a gay director who's telling a gay story in their own particular way, so I was really excited by that. I think that lens is one that I think need in the world.
