New Braunfels rolls over Seguin

Taft running back TJ Andrews rambles for yardage in the second half on Thursday, Sept.1, 2022 at Rutledge Stadium. Taft defeated SA Veterans Memorial 45-35.Taft rushed for 446 yards and five touchdowns Thursday night at Rutledge Stadium, eventually wearing down a resilient Veterans Memorial team en route to a 45-35 victory.

Taft cut into the deficit early in the second quarter on a 1-yard sneak by junior quarterback Johnie Lott. Less than two minutes later, running back Jayden Aleman scored on a misdirection that opened up the outside lane for an easy 13-yard touchdown. Taft’s second-quarter onslaught continued on the first play of its following drive, as senior running back TJ Andrews ripped off a 59-yard touchdown run to extend the Raider lead to 25-14.
