Officer response times drop under 10 minutes in November, Salt Lake police chief saysThe Salt Lake City Police Department on Monday announced that officer response times in November dipped below 10 minutes for the first time in at least a year. Still terrible. Still not remotely competitive with other agencies. People would be horrified if they knew that many of the officers required to do the overtime shifts have no real understanding of patrol practices (detectives). When seconds count, police are minutes away. A good improvement for SLCPD and a reminder to take responsibility for your own safety until the police arrive. They are human beings, they can’t instantly teleport to you. Was this study done by an independent agency or was the police just reporting these numbers about themselves?
