Suspect in Buffalo supermarket shooting previously investigated for violent threat

, supermarket on Saturday was previously investigated for making a violent statement.

Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said the suspect was evaluated and released but no further complaints were made. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul noted during the news conference that the investigation into the suspect occurred prior to her time in office but that she would look for answers into what happened.

The assault rifle used in the attack was legally purchased in New York, a senior law enforcement official said. A hunting rifle and shotgun were also found at the scene. A judge remanded the suspect into custody without bail during an arraignment Saturday evening in Buffalo City Court on one count of murder in the first degree. A felony hearing was scheduled for Thursday morning.

In the alleged manifesto, the suspect appears to self-describe as a racist, white supremacist, and anti-Semite. The document espouses the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory frequently pushed by white supremacists, a racist doctrine that white Americans are being"replaced" by non-white immigrants.

What do you want from the police? The kid run his mouth but did not act on his words. This kid could have bought illegal guns. If the police had done anything more at that time they would have been overstepping the boundaries. They can’t win for losing.

I heard a preacher this morning say the school system is mostly to blame for these hate motivated shootings

Well In this great country he fits the profile to not be taken seriously or get a free pass. Something needs to be done with access to assault weapons in this country.

It’s easy to say but not likely. I carry a gun . I was robbed. A young black man pulled a gun and demanded my Omega gold watch. I complied. I could not justify killing him .

It makes me mad that officials take these previous threats like nothing, make the same threats tours a president or any other government official and see the results 😡😡😡😡

It’s so strange how threats made by these people aren’t taken seriously. And they are always apprehended without incident. Had it been the other way around, he would NOT have been called a “suspect” and he would have been shot multiple times. This County 😡

But he was still allowed to have a gun, the way the NRA pays politicians to allow.
