MILPITAS — A 46-year-old Milpitas man suspected of starting a fire at a McDonald’s early Wednesday by throwing an incendiary device through a glass window has been arrested, police said.Fire crews put out the blaze at the fast-food restaurant located on Ranch Drive. It was closed when the blaze began about 2:40 a.m., and nobody was injured.
Police found and arrested the suspect about a half-mile away, according to a statement from Milpitas police Lt. Tyler Jamison. He had driven away from the scene, Jamison said. Police did not say what kind of device the man threw into the restaurant. They arrested him on suspicion of arson and felony vandalism.
