Announced in a press release, Buckner peacefully passed away on May 2, 2024, while surrounded by her loved ones.
“Born on January 28, 1952, in Seattle, Washington, Susan’s journey in the spotlight was marked by a myriad of achievements. She was crowned Miss Washington in 1971 and later represented The Evergreen State in the Miss America pageant the following year,” the press release reads. “Soon after, she became one of Dean Martin’s Golddiggers, which ignited her passion for music and songwriting. That led her to become part of the all-girl group Fantasy and musical duo Buckner and Pratt.
Following her role in Grease, Buckner appeared in several more television series such as The Love Boat, B.J. and the Bear, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, and When the Whistle Blows.
