The U.S. Supreme Court has blocked lower court rulings that invalidated, as partisan gerrymanders, Ohio’s map for congressional districts and Michigan’s maps for congressional and state legislative districts.
The high court's orders put on hold efforts in both states to redraw their electoral maps ahead of the 2020 elections, a remedy ordered by the lower courts.that the district map draw up by the Republican-controlled legislature unconstitutionally discriminated against Democrats."We are convinced by the evidence that this partisan gerrymander was intentional," the ruling said.
I hate the Supreme Court. It's completely politicized and not in a good way. It supports a party that depends on cheating to win elections. The GOP can't win on it's own because of it's terrible inhumane policies and intolerant racism. This is extremely dangerous to our Republic.
Great news Democrats are trying to steal elections.
trumpbrokescotus
When Dems can't cheat, they project. Sad little people.
They should keep gerrymandering in place so that all political parties need to remain competitive throughout the nation.
jan_aurora Good.
Let me guess... the vote against was Republicans
Tell the “Why”!!! This is misleading and you know it. We need you to be better than this!
Well since our democratic congress isn't working, I'm glad to see two branches of government still function. The executive branch full speed ahead, now the Judicial restoring judicial fairplay, and invoking keen insight and intelligence. Thank you Justices, Americas watching
Poor journalism. “Why” was a temporary hold placed and “when” or “what” will overcome this hold. Clickbait with zero context.
Elections have consequences.
Just In: 'Elections have consequences'
Face it - Rule of Law is a fallacy. Right-wing, the Left – the US is broken. SCOTUS is a politicized tool no longer capable of providing true legal findings. Police kill on a daily basis & aren’t accountable for their actions. Hopefully a new Dem president can reset the clock.
I tend to believe this is simply a matter of Democrats looking to gain an advantage by drawing a map that's convenient for them since they lost those states. They been good enough up until this point? I work for Obama?
Same thing as TRUTH and integrity
Shame on SCOTUS for refusing to see that Gerrymandering goes against fair voting practices.
Shameful.
Now the fix is in. Elections really are rigged after all! Since they can't be fair anymore, what are the alternatives?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the Coup that Trump keeps talking about!
Temporarily is in until after the election temporarily politicalhacks
Aka Scotus blocks Dem voter fraud, upholds election integrity Next do
Great news on a memorial day weekend. Thanks!
Good! Pennsylvania shouldn’t of been able to do it either
Excellent!!!!!
Nice! MAGA2020 !!
Liberal lower court rulings?
Do Demcorats really think they can gerrymander while accusing Republicans of gerrymandering? The answer is yes
So democrats corruption haulted here
Winning
IvanTheK Stacking the courts pays off y’all. Vote
Kavenaughs way of payback. He WARNED the dems.
Gotta stop and i thought MI had this solved when they went to a bipartisan commission on the matter with an independent tie breaker. Both sides wanna redraw the map and thats especially ironic for the left with their 'No borders' stance.
Blue states should simply stop paying federal taxes. No taxation without representation.
Are you surprised? Trump has placed all conservatives in the USSC.
'take that you awful democrats that made me angry, take that!'
Democracy at work!
