Supreme Court rules workers can't be fired for being gay or transgender

While workers in about half the country were protected by local laws that prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, there was no federal law that explicitly barred LGBT workers from being fired on that basis.

The cases were brought by three workers who said they were fired from their jobs because they were gay or transgender. They argued that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which says that employers may not discriminate based on "sex," also applies to sexual orientation and gender identity.

You can't because love is neutral. Well don't discriminate on age anymore if a 25 year old person has a sexual relationship with a 16 year old person. Get rid of statutory rape!

Seriously this is a duh moment, people are not fired because they are gay, they are fired cause there gayness scares paying customers away. Maybe if they tone down the gayness they would not be fired

How does this work in an 'at will' State where the justification can be any number of reasons? I've been through the EEO process, both sides of it, and the burden of proof is difficult at best for either side. Most EEO's fail initially, it's the retaliation that wins.
