How do you know what kinds of people are crossing over illegally? You may hear that they are all simply war-torn families seeking asylum, but how do you know they are telling the truth? With little to no identification or verification, could they not just as easily be families as child traffickers, convicted criminals, or even terrorists?

What reasons do illegal immigrants have to follow any laws while in America? Their first step across the border itself is breaking a law. From the moment they enter, they are lawbreakers. If they are willing to ignore our border laws, how many other laws are they willing to break? What incentives do they have to resist attempting to break other laws if we allow them to break just some?

How is any of this fair to legal immigrants? Hundreds of thousands of foreigners work very hard and go through actual struggles to prove that they genuinely want to live in and contribute to the well-being of America. They spend years studying our language and customs to earn the privilege of becoming one of us.
