Superman's Cape Makes the Perfect Weapon Against Green Lantern

This was seen in a recent altercation with a rogue Green Lantern, where even without his greatest abilities, the Man of Steel was able to use his symbol of Hope to defeat his opponent.

Superman: Lost #6 – by Christopher Priest, Carlo Pagulayan, Jason Paz, and Jeromy Cox – continues the story of Clark Kent stranded in space, potentially trillions of miles from Earth. Settling on an uninhabited section of a planet, Clark encounters a Green Lantern named Hope. After spending years together, their relationship sours, leading to a conflict that the nearly-depowered Superman has to use his ingenuity to win.Superman's Symbol Smashes Through Hope's Constructs Superman: Lost chronicles Superman's time in deep space, after being flung across the universe while preventing a black hole from destroying Earth.

Superman Takes Hope Down...With Hope Figuring that Hope's Lantern Ring is an older model, Clark wraps his cape around his fist, making sure his yellow S symbol is front-facing, and managing to punch straight through their constructs, literally defeating Hope with the symbol of Hope. The powers Green Lanterns have, while strong, aren't as strong as Superman. Most Green Lanterns have advanced strength, flight, and the ability to create barriers and constructs.

While Superman has the clear weakness of Kryptonite, Green Lanterns also had a weakness to yellow. This is because of an impurity in the Central Power Battery on Oa, due to the influence of Parallax. During the events of Rebirth, this was fixed, but not all Lantern Rings have been upgraded. Superman has been friends with several Green Lanterns for years. As such, Superman is intimately aware of the strengths and weaknesses that Green Lantern rings have.
