Sunday likely to be San Antonio’s coldest day until next fall

After stalling out across South Texas on Friday and Saturday, a strong cold front finally swept all the way through San Antonio Saturday night, ushering in unseasonably chilly air into the Alamo City . By the afternoon, temperatures on Sunday are going to be 15 to 20 degrees below average for late April. Cool Sunday Early morning temperature will drop to the low to mid-50s in San Antonio , likely between 52 and 55 degrees in the metro area.

That’s because as we move farther into spring and summer, strong cold fronts become much harder to come by here in South Texas. Fronts can still happen, but they typically only drop temperatures in the 70s or 80s as we move into May and June. Warm-up on the way Beautiful weather is expected as we head into the first half of the new workweek. Monday will start chilly with lows falling to 50 to 52 degrees.
