The burglary suspects started running from Missouri City police at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sugar Land Communications Director Doug Adolph told ABC13. The suspects were going westbound on Highway 90. The crash happened outside the Public Works Department building on Highway 90, which is shut down in both directions until further notice, according to officials.

The 56-year-old victim, identified as Joseph Aponte, was taken out of his truck so that officials could perform CPR, but he did not survive, officials said. He was with the city for a year. Three people were in the suspected car, two of which had to be extricated. One suspect got out on their own.
