Sudan’s military and protest leaders agree on a new ruling body as ex-president Bashir charged over killings

"We agreed on the structure of the authorities and their powers," a spokesman for the protest movement said. The army generals and protesters are at loggerheads over who will sit on a new ruling body replacing the existing military council.

"At today's meeting we agreed on the structure of the authorities and their powers," Taha Osman, a spokesman for the protest movement, told AFP."Tomorrow the talks will continue to discuss the period of transition and the composition of the authorities." The generals have proposed that the new council be military led, while the protest leaders want a majority civilian body.
