When obesity more than doubled in Chinese adults over two decades, their government enlisted a Coca-Cola-backed nonprofit to draft official obesity prevention guidelines –– which emphasized a lack of exercise, as opposed to diet, as the major cause.

It's the diet soda that really created the problems. We've had soda around for decades, but when diet soda hit the market, obesity really became a problem.

Coca-Cola exerts strong influence over our U.S. policy re. obesity too... when cities like Chicago & Philly passed sugary bev taxes, their giant political action group AmeriBev swiftly funded major astroturfing campaigns to attack the local politicians responsible. It’s ugly.

Say, could Coca-Cola not also help dear leaders with truce/resolution of the trade war?
