Authorities said May and the staff member struggled as May tried to take the flag, and that May struck the staff member and a second who tried to intervene. CLC police were called in to investigate and identify the offender.May was taken into custody Saturday on two counts of aggravated battery and one count of committing a hate crime, according to authorities.
Prosecutors said May was a student at the time of the alleged incident and has since been expelled. CLC did not immediately respond to an email seeking confirmation.
