Teachers get descent wages, yet, they're willing to disrupt the schooling cycle. I think the quality needs to be improved. That's why I was better off using the private sector. Try negotiating during the school vacations.

But it's all about the children dontchaknow? Smh

LAUSD includes schools in more affluent areas that can count on tremendous parental support. But the vast majority of the students it serves are low-income. More than 80% of its students get free or reduced-price lunches.

oh its that time of year when a special group of people want more and more and do less and less

Coaches and athletes will be among those most affected by an LAUSD teacher strikeIf United Teachers Los Angeles goes through with its planned strike on Thursday against the Los Angeles Unified School District, you can expect the high school sports season to come to a halt. Teacher/coaches are not going to cross picket lines even if their teams will be adversely affected. Whoa, you’re right. I was worried this was about the craven privatization of public goods, an attack on labor and a cultural shift where education is openly treated as the reproduction of the labor force. But now I see who the real victims are. Telling all my friends to subscribe People aren't striking. Unions are. This is what happens when Union bosses want more money. We the people, fellow society contributors and parents stand with you, teachers and coaches! Go get it for your family!
