Storms expected Tuesday amid otherwise dry week

Showers and a possible thunderstorm are predicted for Tuesday as a storm system moves across the Houston area. Scattered showers are expected to begin developing before sunrise and steady, widespread showers will persist most of the day,. The system brings with it a 90 percent chance of precipitation and probable rising temperatures.

The high temperature Tuesday is expected to be warmer than the rest of the week at 69 degrees, according to forecasters.Metro could take over Houston's BCycle, spending $500K to help people get to bus and train stops Some of Tuesday’s storms may become strong or severe and generate heavy rainfall. The rain could produce localized flooding in low lying areas with poor drainage, the weather service warns.

For SE TX, clear/cold tonight then increasing clouds & cool on Mon. Widespread showers/storms can be expected on Tue as a storm system moves across the area . Also some potential for strong/severe storms and locally heavy rainfall.
