Sting Talks 'The Last Ship', Vegas Residency And Having a Hollywood Star Next to Donald Duck

frontman admitted he was spotted looking at his piece of real estate on Hollywood Boulevard. “There I am between the Andrews Sisters and Donald Duck,” he said of his star, which he received way back in 2000. “Which if you think about it, it’s exactly where I should be.”

During his chat with Kimmel, the alternative rock legend recounted the first song of his own that he heard on radio, “Roxanne” in 1978. The former school teacher was in a basement flat in Bayswater, London at the time, and almost injured himself in the moment. His bandmates Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland were in their own, hazy states.

”It’s the most exciting thing ever to hear your own song on the radio for the first time. Nothing beats that,” Sting mused. On second thought, “well, a few things could beat that.” The Hall of Famer also discussed his upcoming residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which kicks off in May , and the redux of his musical, a tale inspired by his childhood and the "surreal, epic landscape" he was born into.re-launched in Los Angeles this week. "They're very very supportive," he said. "It's lovely."
