The Olympic marathoner isn’t done just yet, though.Olympian Steve Spence’s streak of sub-5-minute miles has come to an end after 43 years.
Despite the streak’s end, Spence has ambitious goals for the future, including trying to run his age for a 10 miler.came to an end as two late attempts fell short of the mark at the end of 2019. With only a few days left in the year, Spence went to Hagerstown, Maryland, on December 28 for all-comers indoor meet at Hagerstown Community College. With a few solid, he was on track at the 400 mark, but then things got harder around the 600 mark. He pushed through but fell short with a time of 5:07.
