Former President Trump's former senior adviser Steve Bannon must turn himself in to prison by July 1 for his contempt of Congress conviction after defying a congressional subpoena over the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, a judge appointed by Mr. Trump himself ruled Thursday.

A federal appeals court has upheld the criminal conviction of Donald Trump’s longtime ally for defying a subpoena from the House committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol. …Former President Trump’s former senior adviser Steve Bannon must turn himself in to prison by July 1 for his contempt of Congress conviction after defying a congressional subpoena over the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021.

Mr. Bannon was convicted in 2022 for declining to appear for a deposition with the House Jan. 6 committee probing the Capitol riot, and refusing to provide documents related to challenging the 2020 election results. He appealed to the Supreme Court to review his case and keep him from jail time while the appeal is pending, but the high court did not agree.
