My GPS once told me to take a right turn, down a steep, heavily wooded hillside (no road or trail on the hillside). I didn't take that turn. Instead, I found a spot to stop, then reached in the back for the road atlas.

My dad intentionally tried something similar in a 1950's IH Binder - He had it on good authority that the wheel base width of the Travelall, matched up to the width of train tracks and would literally, ride like it was on rails... It did not. Alcohol may have been a factor

GPS steered me to a dead end, I stopped, did a U turn then went around to the other side of the dead end. Must be nice not to keep going when you see something sketchy.
