A North Jersey Congressman who's opposed New York's congestion price plan urged workers to continue working from home while wooing employers with tax breaks to come to N.J.

would affect them received three simple words of advice from a congressman – Stay in Jersey.

The North Jersey Congressman ticked off a list of advantages: $20,000 a year saved in commuting costs, more quality time with family, better pizza and boosting town economies by spending money at local businesses instead of in high-priced Manhattan shops. “We’re encouraging more flexibility from New York businesses to allow moms and dads to work from home in New Jersey, we’ll set up regional hubs, we’re going to give you legislation to make it more attractive to let people work from here,” he said.

“Why go on these roads every morning, pay exorbitant tolls, $16 a day, $4,000 a year, money on parking and gas costs another $10,000,” Gootheimer said. “let’s face it, commuting sucks.” “If the long commute, tolls and gas are not enough to convince you, there is congestion pricing and the moochers in New York won’t back off. We asked for years, Gottheimer said. “It could be $23 a day in congestion pricing , with tolls $39 every single day.”about an environmental assessment of congestion pricing. That plan is supposed to be released this spring, prompting a second round of regional public comment and hearing in the region, according to the MTA.

Please don’t get more NYC people to move here and I’m saying this as someone who moved here from NYC 2 years ago. We just bought a house and it took us months to find a place because we kept getting outbid by New Yorkers by insane amounts.

Posturing of an empty suit.

If I stay in NJ can I get a tax break? That way I don’t have to move south to keep more of my hard earned money.

NYC rolls out $4 million ad campaign to discourage speeding driversNYC launched a $4 million public service campaign on Monday to warn drivers about the dangers of speeding amid a disturbing rise in traffic fatalities. The campaign will run in nine languages and $1.5 million will go toward community and ethnic media. Goodbye, $1.5 million. Unfortunately, local street speeders will not be affected by, or see the ads. They don't care. Sort of like the warning on cigarettes; think anyone smoking, or thinking about smoking hasn't seen it before. Another $1 that could have gone to education. It's all the scooters and cyclists that vroom through all the red lights and weave between cars that set me off 😠 Not convinced this is money well spent. Money might be better spent by throwing those who causes crashes, injuries and/or deaths into jail for extended periods.
