The changes will mark the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began that both unvaccinated people and students will be allowed to remove their masks indoors.
Newsom jointly announced the new statewide masking policy with Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, who also announced changes in their states, citing declining COVID case rates and hospitalizations across the west coast. "Masks are an effective tool to minimize spread of the virus and future variants, especially when transmission rates are high," Newsom said in a statement."We cannot predict the future of the virus, but we are better prepared for it and will continue to take measures rooted in science to keep California moving forward."

That sounds really dumb to me. Removing mandates for vaccinated folks, sure. Maybe they won't all comply, but we should at least say they have to wear masks without the vaccine. This is how you create new variants and keep this bullshit going.

No one will be admitting anything publicly, but this was done out of fear of 'freedom' convoys. And it is very disappointing to see the govt bend under pressure from the dumbest among us.
I’ll continue to wear a mask and get any future boosters. I haven’t had a cold in 2 years and I credit masking. Side benefit and excellent public health action I can take.
Mask mandates don’t matter anymore, if they ever did. Covid deniers and anti vaxxers defied mandates from Day One. Everyone else will now do what’s right for themselves. My routine won’t change. Still masked in indoor public or crowded venues. I’m used to masks now — no problem.

Finally they did something right about covid. There never should have been a mask mandate.
Nobody is asking anyone not wearing a mask if they’re vaccinated or not. The vaccinated are probably the ones still wearing masks.
I think they have long since looked like clowns not changing mask guidance a long time ago. They provide little to no protection indoors and outside they are 100% worthless. And vaxxed and unvaxxed can not equally get an spread the virus so it doesn’t matter anyway.

I think it’ll be interesting to see any kind of mandate from here on out. The Unvaccinated literally just waited it out and rebuffed it. Next mandate of any kind people will be more apt to just wait it out.
So does this mean unvaccinated people will no longer have to carry their fake vaccination documents with them anymore?
