State funding will pay for free mental health services for students on N.J. campus

Rowan University is adding another resource to its mental health counseling for students.will be added this fall to existing services to help students in need. Counselors are available 24 hours a day on the telehealth platform and are licensed mental health professionals with extensive clinical experience, a statement from the university said. The service is free to students.

NJ Advance Media typically limits reporting on suicides to those that occur in crowded public places, involve public figures or, in special circumstances, where there is a larger public impact.the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on their mental health The state has earmarked $10 million in coronavirus relief funds for the Uwill program. It gives students access to a network of licensed mental health providers trained in working with multicultural populations and underrepresented groups.
