Trump fired IG Linick in a surprise move last Friday night. The decision was recommended by Pompeo, according to the White House.

. Trump vetoed the resolutions last July, and the GOP-held Senate failed in an attempt to override the veto.

Trump's firing of Linick came in a surprise move Friday night. Trump said in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday that he had lost confidence in Linick, without providing further explanation. "We don't have the full picture yet, but it's troubling that Secretary Pompeo wanted Mr. Linick pushed out before this work could be completed," Engel said.

I thought investigating the Secretary using an aide to walk his dog, rather than going out with his security agents to do it himself. Either way, the Acting Inspector General will start with the same ongoing matters, and maybe even look into the many State Dept classified leaks.

Pompeo advised ousting of State Dept IG Steve LinickA White House official said the ousting of State Department Inspector General Steve Linick came on the advice of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Democrats told NBC News that Linick had opened an investigation into possible misconduct from Pompeo in terms of a government employee who may have been doing personal errands both for him and his wife. The investigation supposedly opened by this guy is pure speculation at this point. No proof has been provided to support this. Fake news. This is outrageous, 4th person in charge of oversight fired during Covid. Obviously they're trying to cover up incompetence, but MSNBC runs clip of 45 calling *Obama incompetent* over & over?! Way to drive a lying criminal POTUS's narrative. Speaks volumes abt MSM incompetence. Sure there's nothing wrong with getting rid of someone who is investigating you is there? Innocent people always want this to happen making people think your guilty. Guess that's better than jail. 😁

Pelosi says Trump firing of State Department inspector general could be 'unlawful' if done in retaliationTrump can fire any federal employee, but 'if it looks like it's in retaliation ... that could be unlawful,' Pelosi said. Media layoffs & furloughs must continue en masse until there are 14 days w/out any deaths. The jobs will come back, I've been told by dem governors. It's like cutting a parachute at 1,000 ft! If it only saves 1 life, it's worth it. We Are All In This Together. Stop being selfish! Then SpeakerPelosi is complicit if she doesn’t file articles of impeachment.

Democrats investigating Trump firing of State Department watchdogDemocrats demand the White House hand over records related to Trump’s latest firing of a federal watchdog, this time at the State Department. They should also investigate how much it’s costing taxpayers for his daily supply of Depends. This was incredibly... I'll say FOOLISH. I get Trump is 'Mr I WILL FIRE YOU' but IGs serve a legitimate purpose. His administration deserves all the criticism it receives as we well as the political flack. This is amateur hour in that department. And why not the Congress investigates the ObamaGate ?
