SAN FRANCISCO — A California state audit has found that the University of California wrongly admitted at least 64 wealthy students over the past six years as “favors to donors, family, and friends.”
One campus, the University of California, Berkeley, admitted 42 applicants through its regular admissions process based on connections to staff, leadership, and donors, but those applicants were not as qualified as others who were denied admission, the audit found. The audit was conducted in response to the national college admissions scandal last year that embroiled prestigious universities around the country, athletic coaches and dozens of wealthy parents.
At UC Berkeley, at least one student was known to have been admitted with fraudulent test scores, prosecutors allege. David Sidoo, a Canadian businessman and former professional football player, pleaded guilty to one charge of mail fraud conspiracy for paying Singer to fix entrance exams for his two sons. The younger of the two, Jordan Sidoo, attended UC Berkeley. David Sidoo was sentenced to three months in prison this summer.
California State Auditor Elaine Howle found that staff were insufficiently trained and supervised in reviewing applications, “which led to inconsistent reviews, and affected applicants’ chances of admission.”

Fraud everywhere.... SAD
They admitted they got caught
Yeah. So not shocking. It’s almost as if UofC didn’t know that this is a rampant problem!! 🙄
...as “favors to donors, family, and friends,” according to an audit that found hundreds more questionable cases of student athletes accepted to the top UC schools Only 4 of the 9 schools audited UC Berkeley was the worst offender
Someone once said money is the root of all evil. I think they might have been right.
Lol the most 'progressive' state in the union and they still fuck over the people they promise to help
That’s a low number
THIS is the kind of affirmative action that we need to eliminate. ELITIST privileged trust-fund babies who hoard university spots without even trying!
Hearing that wealthy parents paid for their kids to get into more exclusive schools is about as shocking as hearing rich men in power in Hollywood and in politics traded sex for jobs/roles in movies.
2 SYSTEMS OF EQUALITY EXEMPLIFIED 🤮🤮
The entire UC system is corrupt to the core.
Let’s make legacy kids wear a red letter “L” so they can be questioned about their place at school just like how every minority student is just by the color of their skin.Seeing kids with excellent grades and a diverse background as the problem vs rich kids with mediocre grades🤦🏻♀️
Anyone who has a head on their shoulders knows elite schools do this as a standard practice. That's why most of us just write off places like Harvard and Yale.
Translation: rich people bribed an education center to allow their brat ass children in to schools they did not deserve to enter. It about Money, not Learning.
Who cares? It’s a private school isn’t it?
It's happening in california, what else do you expect, california where illegals can murder US citizen and go free with the help of the Democrats leadership
iJaadee everything aired out
Now look into Trump and his kids paying their way in.
Well of course they did
Uh-oh. Did they know?
I mean what'd you expect
And....? How many wealthy, athletic potential, or “diversity” students are admitted to Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, USC, Notre Dame, even the Service Academies that do not meet the educational/SAT scores minimums that the “middle of the row” students MUST meet just to apply?
That’s your affirmative action SCOUNDRELS!!! THEY TOOK OTHER WHITE FOLKS SPOTS🛑 Leave African Americans alone with that reverse discrimination BS. MSNBC CNN VoteBidenHarrisBlue2020
Is there anything that’s NOT corrupt?
-OF COURSE!!
Wrongly?!! Gtfoh
That’s wild. It’s almost like money is more important to them than educating the public
How many unqualified candidates based on diversity quotas, or donations or family connections? Now, do those. “Wealth” discrimination...?
'Wrongly' of course, but it was intentional, too.
Is it so wrong that the first place my mind went with this was that it helps downplay USC's own admissions scandals? Rivalry? Lol
Now do all the other universities in the country and go back forty years. I guarantee most of those in power positions today didn't deserve the schools they gained entry to.
'Wrongly'
Sounds like some 3rd world corruption. Strange.
They never 'accidentally' admit the poor, do they?
Well the UC admissions folks must've done some impressive double-twisting backflips to get those kids in; let's hope we can watch it all on replay.
🤬
Good god, that’s ten per year! These people could have been busy with more impactful things, I’m sure.
Wrongly admitted? No no. You said “wealthy”. They knew.
Is that a lot for a public university?
10 a year?
Ahhhhh California, what a wonderful place /s
