Alabama could be ready to use a new, untried execution method called nitrogen hypoxia to carry out a death sentence later this month, a state attorney told a federal judge Monday.

“I remember the guy yelling he was going to put something in the door” and would be back to pick them up, Miller testified.

Miller described how he disliked needles because of painful attempts at drawing blood. He said nitrogen gas sounded like the nitrous oxide gas used at dentist offices, and that seemed better than lethal injection. The state, attempting to cast doubt on the inmate’s story about the form, asked him if he could describe anything about the officer who distributed the paper, but Miller said he couldn’t.

Regarding the new execution method, Houts told the judge the state had gone as far as to see if Miller would agree to be fitted with a mask for use of nitrogen, but the inmate declined. Miller’s lawyer, Mara Klebaner, said the inmate’s legal team needed more information about the nitrogen process and wouldn’t agree blindly to its use. Miller’s lawyers don’t want him to be the test case for an untried execution method, she said.Miller, a delivery truck driver, was convicted in workplace shootings that killed Lee Holdbrooks, Scott Yancy and Terry Jarvis in suburban Birmingham.

Miller was delusional and believed the men were spreading rumors about him, including that he was gay, testimony showed. A defense psychiatrist said Miller suffered from severe mental illness but his condition wasn’t bad enough to use as a basis for an insanity defense under state law.

There is no humane way to kill someone

This is commonly known as 'suffocation'. It's not new. I worked as a lab assistant in a research facility in the 90s. I 'sacrificed' many study animals (mice and rats) in this way in order to examine their organs. They fought, thrashed and struggled for air.

Fun fact your body doesn't know that it's breathing in oxygen it must knows that it's getting rid of carbon dioxide though the amount of carbonic acid built up in the system. This if done right it's like getting drowsy and falling asleep.

sure let’s try it. the least he can do for society

So the gas chamber, right?

What about a new method called abolishing the death penalty?

Look up how many death row folks get exonerated after new technology shows them innocent. Keeping one asshole in jail for life seems like a fair trade to give the innocent a chance. Also, the faith you have in the prison system to not F this up naive.

The death penalty is barbaric, although this is probably by far the most humane method. I digress, it still needs to be abolished.

There goes those “prolifers” again ending life, it’s either though a gun, anti-vax, blocking healthcare, political violence, etc., or ending a life on their judgement. Can we please stop calling then “prolife” and call them “probith with a fetish to kill what they don’t like”?

should stop wasting tax payer money on new ways to handle death row people, why not give each inmate 6 fentanyl pills seized at the border, anyone that survives gets a pardon and can rejoin the real world. it's fast, it's free, it's effective and it's already Democrat endorsed!

I'm no conservative, but spend 10 minutes talking to these people or study their psyche and you won't be so anti-death penalty.

Why do we worry about death sentence prisoners they never cared about there victims...

Who or what animal are they testing this crap on? What on earth is wrong with ppl down there?

😳

If the state wants to kill people, why can’t they just use the fentanyl they confiscate at the border?

What about a gunshot ? You could argue it’s cruel but it’s certainly not unusual.
