Stars coach Pete DeBoer said Saturday morning that Hintz would be a game-time decision for the Western Conference finals matchup. However, he was ruled a scratch ahead of the contest.Hintz suffered an upper-body injury in the first period of Game 4 against Colorado. He missed the remainder of that game and was ruled out ahead of the next three.“He’s not McDavid, but what would they be if they took their first-line center out?” DeBoer said.
Hintz led Dallas in playoff points last season. He started this postseason in a slump, recording just one empty-net goal in the first-round series against Vegas. But in Game 2 against Colorado,He has been skating since his injury and was on the ice for the Stars’ optional morning skate Saturday. Hintz had 65 points in 80 regular-season games.
Dellandrea has not played since Game 6 against the Vegas Golden Knights on May 3. He has appeared in four playoff games and scored the game-winning goal in Game 4 at T-Mobile Arena., Staff Reporter.
