Starhotels President Talks Italian Craftsmanship and Other Favorite Things

lisabetta Fabri’s father founded Starhotels in Florence, Italy, in 1980, when she was just a teenager.

Fabri, who describes her own aesthetic as “eclectic, cozy, unexpected, and elegant, was drawn to the family business through her love of creating hotels that she felt should “be experienced like second homes.” Yet, she counts her biggest achievements in her championing of the arts. Starhotels is a supporter of the Friends of the Uffizi Gallery and the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and has sponsored restoration of several monuments, including the 28 Statues of Illustrious Figures in the Loggia of the Uffizi Gallery and Piazzale Michelangelo’s terrace in Florence.

The restaurant/bar in my hometown Florence, Italy, that I love to take a visitor to is… of course, it’s Cibrèo Restaurant & Cocktail Bar at Helvetia & Bristol, my second home in town. Cibreo has a long story in the city, that’s why I wanted to have a Cibreo restaurant in the hotel when the property was renovated.

A passion of mine that few people know about is… [that I love a] garden tour. The beauty of nature is a great source of inspiration.
