Speaking at The New York Times's DealBook policy forum in Washington, DC, on Thursday, Schultz — whoafter Kevin Johnson stepped down from the role — said swaying staffers away from remote work and back to the office hasn't been productive.
He continued:"No, they are not coming back at the level I want them to. And, you know, we're a very collaborative, creative group. I realize I'm an old-school person and this is a different generation." Starbucks did not immediately respond to Insider's request to comment on Schultz's statements or the company's remote work policies.

Give them a choice and a deadline. Your Company, your Employees, they work for you!
It’s simple. Give them a timeframe to be in the office or so that old fashioned thing called FIRE THEM”. There are still people willing to work other than at home as long as the money is there.

With the price of gas, it’s no wonder people don’t want to sit in rush hour traffic and burn up their gas let alone drive back and forth to work when the plandemic showed them they could work from home. It’s the ushering in of a new era.

Left Starbucks when I streamlined their Store Dev process & made them ~$25 million over 5 years. Asked for a raise. Didn’t get it. Asked for vacation. Didn’t get it. Boss finally felt bad & got me a $20 Target card.

There are many willing to work overtime for you Schultz. And they will make your tasteless & broken stores the best again. You will have to let the lazy 'play pretend' somewhere else. Why would anyone come to your dirty stores when they have Minuti and the like?
And there it is. In plain site. Flexibility is offered until it’s not. Hybrid is offered until it’s not. Focusing on measurable results (100% accountability + 100% autonomy) does not go away or get old.
