Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, an exciting coming-of-age drama starring Jude Law as an unknown Jedi, is reportedly set for a Christmas release. A coming-of-age drama set in the beloved Star Wars galaxy, Skeleton Crew will see a group of children from an Earth-like planet left wandering the galaxy - and crossing paths with a Jedi. It was initially expected to stream last year, but Disney postponed the show.
Speaking to Collider at CCXP, director Jon Watts confirmed Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will instead release on Disney+ sometime around Christmas this year. It's unclear why the show was postponed, when it was even teased at last year's Star Wars Celebration. The most likely explanation is that Disney adjusted content release plans after the strikes.
Related Star Wars: Skeleton Crew: Cast, Story & Everything We Know The upcoming live-action TV show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, looks to be a fascinatingly unique Disney+ show. Here's what's known about it so far. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Is The Perfect Christmas Release Precious little is known about this upcoming Star Wars TV show at present.
Like all the best Christmas stories, this will have it all - light and dark both. After all, the Star Wars galaxy is a dangerous place, especially given Skeleton Crew is set during the Imperial resurgence after Grand Admiral Thrawn's return from the extragalactic planet Peridea. The footage seen at Star Wars Celebration 2023 confirmed that piriates will play a role - perhaps involved in spiriting the children away - but nothing more is known.
Jude Law's Jedi will presumably become a father-figure and mentor for the wandering children, offering protection and guidance. Lucasfilm seem to be avoiding giving a hint of his true identity, perhaps meaning he's someone to viewers - whether from Legends or canon. Given the character's age, he's likely to be another Order 66 survivor rather than a Jedi trained away from the temple .
