Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Star Wars' next TV show, The Acolyte, is essentially Disney's replacement for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It's hard to believe KOTOR is more than 20 years old. Although the style and aesthetic were familiar, KOTOR was very different to the other Star Wars movies and shows; it took place at a time when Jedi and Sith were numerous.

The Acolyte Is The Story Of Jedi Versus Sith Don't expect any familiar names in The Acolyte. This is thousands of years after the days of Revan, Malak, and other recognizable characters from KOTOR lore - most of whom have been nodded to in canon already. But the basic principle is the same, because this is a battle between Jedi and Sith.

Unlike KOTOR, This Is The Galaxy As We Know It Close The key to understanding this lies in the fact The Acolyte is set in a much more familiar galaxy. From the beginning, The Acolyte's trailer confirms that this TV show featured both the Jedi and Sith in a recognizable form, setting up the status quo at the beginning of the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

Can The Acolyte Sell The High Republic As Well As KOTOR Did The Old Republic? Like KOTOR itself, Star Wars: The Acolyte serves as the introduction to a whole new part of the Star Wars timeline - in this case, the High Republic Era. The golden age of the Jedi and the Republic, the High Republic Era ran from 500 years before the Skywalker saga through to roughly 100 - meaning The Acolyte is the story of its demise.
