Disney has issued an uncommon warning to cinema owners around the globe asking them to notify customers that certain visuals and sustained flashing lights sequences in J.J. Abrams' upcomingThe studio has also notified the Epilepsy Foundation, which posted a similar advisory Friday morning, saying it was working in concert with Disney to provide information to its constituents. At the same time, Disney dispatched a letter to exhibitors around the globe.
For about 3 percent of people with epilepsy, exposure to flashing lights at certain intensities, or with certain visual patterns, can trigger seizures. This condition is known as photosensitive epilepsy. Flashing lights can also trigger migraines in those who are photosensitive. In summer 2018, Disney was criticized after concerns were raised on social media about strobe and flashing lights in Pixar's, and their potential to trigger seizures or migraines.
We thank Disney for reaching out to us and proactively providing information to movie theaters and moviegoers in advance of the movie’s release. If you or someone you know are sensitive to lights, please consider the following as you make plans to watch the movie:• Take your friend with you when you go see the film to alert you to which scenes contain the flashing lights so you block your eyes during those scenes.

And anyone that's sensitive to bad script...
JJ Abrams must have really went nuts with the lens flares.
crap, I won't be able to watch it
They are desperate and have decided to resort to hypnotism 😄 [FLASHING LIGHT] 'You like this movie' [FLASHING LIGHT] 'You like this movie a lot' [FLASHING LIGHT] 'It's the best satisfactory ending to the saga' [FLASHING LIGHT] 'This is the best movie you've ever seen'
Good on them!
Wow , the cool )
This shouldn't be an uncommon warning. UK does this all the time.
ERodBuster1 marshaknt thought you both ought to know
I guess lens flare has consequences.
Wow. 👀
Ending scene of the Death star turning into a massive flashing discoball and all of them partying inside confirmed.
I'll bear this in mind as I'm watching it for free on my computer on opening weekend.
I hate how some are GRATEFUL for the warning to Disney when Disney caused this problem in the first place. None of George Lucas' movies had flashing strobe lights. It's an unnecessary addition to the movie. TheRiseOfSkywalker RiseofSkywalker EpisodeIX Epilepsy JJAbrams
Eso ya se ha visto
CYA. Disney knows how ridiculous our society has become.
DriverOnline_ I appreciate this kind of concern for fans
GillyGeek I’d put out a bigger warning to be on the lookout for all the pissy, toxic fanboys who think they know the first thing about filmmaking who will be bitching and moaning before, during and after the film. StarWars fandom is broken in the worst way.
They’ve posted these warnings a lot recently
Yeah, had an epilepsy experience during Solo: A Star Wars Story, and as soon as I saw the trailer for The Rise Of Skywalker when the lightning was striking every 1.1 milliseconds I was like 'Yeah i'm not going'. THank you for posting this and getting the news out though.
Wish FallonTonight / jimmyfallon’s musical guest performances would offer the same warnings when using strobe effects. Repeated requests have produced no change.

Disney monopoly is the Only true issue
They needed to warn the audience that Kathleen Kennedy is a garbage human being and ruined Star Wars by hiring Rian Johnson to destroy it
Don’t throw baby yodas at the screen
I’m safe. 3 and out...
Fans warns theaters of crappy movie
Just like Watchmen did
but those flashing lights are meant to distract from the willful lack of story.
So whytf did they film the scenes like that in the first place?
People have been calling for mandatory warnings like this for years. 🤷🏻♀️
That’s a legitimate concern: a sufficiently high strobe rate causes neural pathways to shut down because they can’t keep up.
This movie is made for the Redbox. I'm doubting it will be worth the price to stream it, much less to see it in theaters.
I love this
