Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning: contains spoilers for Star Trek: Holo-Ween #1!

One of the original Star Trek’s most evil foes has returned to kill Captain Picard. Since its debut in 1966, Star Trek has played host to some of the greatest villains in science fiction, such as Khan and Nero. Yet one evil entity, first encountered by Captain Kirk, stands head and shoulders above the rest, and in Star Trek: Holo-Ween #1, it has returned to threaten Picard’s Enterprise.

Star Trek: Holo-Ween #1 is written by Chris Sequeira and drawn by Joe Eisma. The Enterprise has just passed through a cosmic storm, and to decompress, the crew decides to celebrate Halloween. However, a sinister presence boarded the ship as they passed through the storm. This evil entity possesses two crew members on the Holodeck, setting up shop there. It begins abducting people, and when Data goes to the Holodeck to investigate, he too falls under its influence.

Redjac Could Be Star Trek's Version of the Devil Redjac is the most evil entity in the Star Trek universe, with a dark legacy stretching back centuries. Introduced in the episode “Wolf in the Fold,” it is a non-corporeal being who feeds on fear, Redjac possesses hosts, forcing them to commit unspeakable crimes. Redjac was responsible for the infamous Jack the Ripper slayings in England in the late 1880s and his evil has spread to other worlds.

Redjac Has a Legacy of Evil However, Redjac was not so easily vanquished. When it is revealed Redjac is the culprit, Data reveals that Starfleet encountered the entity on other occasions. Redjac has appeared in various Star Trek comics, most notably in issues 22 and 23 of DC’s acclaimed 1980s run, where Kirk and the Enterprise met it once again. Redjac also appeared in an earlier Star Trek: The Next Generation comic, published by Wildstorm, called Embrace the Wolf.
