The Italian-born educator has documented roots in high levels of the Catholic community, however, being a former Swiss Guard to Pope John Paul II. Enzler has said he also met Mother Teresa during that time, and he later wrote a book about knowing the saints. Evans, the vice president of academic affairs, gave the team Enzler’s resume himself, said David Schein, a committee member and director of the business school’s graduate programs. While it listed references as notable as Cardinal Daniel DiNardo in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Schein said the committee told Evans they felt that Enzler wasn’t qualified.
