Sprint and T-Mobile are getting closer to a merger. What would it mean for customers?

The deal still has to be approved by the Justice Department.he would approve a merger between Sprint and T-Mobile Monday, as long as the companies promise to deploy a 5G network covering 97% of the country’s population within three years of the merger’s final approval and 99% within six years.

As a merged company, Sprint and T-Mobile said they would offer the same or lower priced plans for three years following the deal.
