With steep temperature swings the last few weeks in western Washington, and a snowpack well below normal, the newest longer-range forecasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration gave us a clue about what the rest of spring will bring weather-wise.from the United States Department of Agriculture shows much of the Cascades with only 58 to 76% of normal. That’s not good news with less than a month left until the spring melt-off typically begins.
When it comes to precipitation, we are told there is a 33 to 40% chance of above-average rain or snow in parts of western Washington.
