Heaviest snowfall Thursday into Friday will primarily impact Western Prince William Sound and the Copper River BasinANCHORAGE, Alaska - Clouds are quickly returning to Southcentral Alaska this morning, with some spotty to isolated snow showers in the forecast. Any areas that manage to see light snow showers will only deal with very light accumulation.
Tuesday was the first day in more than a week that highs struggled to climb above freezing in Anchorage. This short-lived cold snap is already exiting the region, with temperatures set to return into the mid- to upper-30s today. Unfortunately, little to no sunshine can be expected for much of Southcentral the next several days as active weather remains with us.
Outside of the snow, the biggest concern for areas out west continue to be the gusty winds, where winds up to 50 mph will lead to lowering visibility and snow drifts. While some warnings are set to expire today, areas in the Northwest Arctic Borough will see those alerts expire Thursday evening.
