After beating out veteran Hudson Card for the staring job, the then-19-year-old cruised in a 52-10 season-opening win over Louisiana-Monroe and was rolling against No. 1 Alabama in Week 2 before suffering a sternoclavicular injury at the end of the first quarter that kept him sidelined for three weeks.
That’s been a major point of emphasis this offseason. And to that end, Ewers looks much improved. It helps that his best out route threat, junior Xavier Worthy, has recovered from a broken hand that impacted their connection during the second half of the season.
