Speaker Philip Gunn’s latest proposal to phase out the state income tax and to reduce the sales tax on groceries was quickly passed out of the House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday.

So how, pray tell, do they propose to fund the state budget? Even just the 55% part that isn't provided by Federal money?

I pray that getting the rid of the state income taxes does not cause property owners to pay more property taxes. It’s not fair for older citizens who own their homes to have to fill the void for the state income taxes. Seniors should have to pay less and not more. DETAILS matter.
