Spanish Fork's Kiplyn Davis remembered 29 years after disappearance

by Brian Mullahy and Kaigan Bigler, KUTV Kiplyn Davis 's sister, Karissa, put flowers on Davis's headstone on the 29th anniversary of her disappearance on May 2, 2024. Kiplyn Davis disappeared 29 years ago, and her body has never been found.At the Spanish Fork Cemetery, Davis’s sister, Karissa, placed flowers at her gravestone.

Davis's former classmate, Timmy Brent Olsen, was convicted 13 years ago of manslaughter in her death and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Previously, Olsen told authorities he watched someone else kill the teen and he only helped hide her body. Multiple people testified during a 2006 federal trial that Olsen admitted to raping, killing and burying Davis in Spanish Fork Canyon.When he came up for parole in March of 2021, officials with the Board of Pardons said Olsen had not cooperated “in good faith” to locate her remains. He will be in prison for at least two more years.

Olsen's attorney, Carolyn E. Howard, said that Olsen had done everything he could to help find Davis's remains.
