"The critical path item for getting the Gulf Coast Service started two daily round trips to New Orleans and Mobile is now the Mobile station site and station track that we need to have in order to start service," says Arun Rao with Amtrak.He says Amtrak has been working with the City of Mobile and Mayor Stimpson on real estate and funding agreements.
He says now it's up to Mayor Stimpson and the city council to determine the next steps for the ground lease and the 3-million-dollar approval for a 3 year operational cost.
