Jonas filed for divorce in September of last year after four years of marriage, stating in the divorce documents that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.""After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK.
After the divorce filing went public, Turner accused Jonas of withholding their children's passports, making them incapable of traveling to England, where she resides. She sued for wrongful retention in September and presented documents that claimed the pair was planning to buy a home together in England in April of 2023 as evidence to support her case. An interim consent order — which allowed for mediation and for their kids to travel between the United States and the U.K.
An American judge approved the dismissal of the wrongful retention case after Turner and Jonas signed their consent order, which received approval from a judge in the U.K. The filing was dismissed "with prejudice and without attorneys’ fees, expenses, costs and/or disbursements awarded to either party" on January 11 after their formal parenting agreement was approved.
