Police said officers responded to a home Tuesday in the 5500 block of Justis Place, where Talat Hassanein lived with his adult sons. Police found Talat Hassanein unconscious at the bottom of the basement stairs. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Detectives found significant trauma to Hassanein’s upper body, and evidence to indicate the death was not accidental, police said. They did not specify what that evidence was. Samy Hassanein was taken to the Adult Detention Center and held without bond, police said. Efforts to reach family members were not successful Wednesday.
