Some felt New Jersey earthquake in Southern New England, others did not

Sat, April 6th 2024 at 8:14 AM CRANSTON , R.I. —WJAR received several calls with viewers asking, "Was that an earthquake?"At first, I thought it was my vertigo acting up," said Ashlynn Kirrane , who felt the quake in Cranston .

Being in North Smithfield, I never felt anything like that before. I've been through a lot of things but nothing like that," said Bob Lafleur.Lafleur felt it while was home. My glasses in the hutch were shaking and I knew something was wrong and my dog looked at me like, what did you do?" Lafleur said. "And I thought the house was going to blow up. I really did."I did not know there was an earthquake. I'm kind of upset because I've always wanted to experience an earthquake," said Joseph Flaquel." know we don't usually get earthquakes.

That sounds kind of alarming. I didn't know that we were in a place where we would really have to worry about earthquakes. I honestly didn't know there was any fault lines or anything around here. It was honestly surprising," Flaquel said.An earthquake off Dartmouth in 2020 was felt across Southern New England.
