Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced three renovation proposals to Soldier Field as the Bears explore building a new stadium outside the city in Arlington Heights. The president of the NFL Players Association blasted the conditions at Soldier Field on Saturday, and he didn't exactly get an argument from the Chicago Bears or Kansas City Chiefs after their preseason game.Union president JC Tretter tweeted the field was not up to NFL standards.
Chicago quarterback Justin Fields said things were worse when the Bears practiced there Tuesday rather than at their suburban headquarters. He also said he tries to use the conditions to work in his favor. The conditions didn't seem to bother Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes. The four-time Pro Bowler threw for 60 yards and a touchdown on the Chiefs' first possession and then called it a day.
Arlington heights is sounding better and better.
Bears are GONE 💯✅ off to Arlington heights Illinois... first time in franchise history they get to build a state of the art football stadium ! No more crooked Chicago politicians to answer to...👍
Third largest market, smallest stadium in the league.
Well, who owns the team and who runs this city?
And they want the Bears to stay. Not the best way to do it.
As if better conditions will make them play good. Face it, that ain't it. They just suck.
It’s a crap stadium with lipstick that you would put on a pig, lowest seating capacity in the entire NFL, don’t really expect much from this relic of a stadium, not then and not now.
as kids,we'd play tackle: In a pasture(dodging manure),hard,uneven playground or parking lot--🤨
I think the ChicagoBears have long been a source of frustration for fans
And so it begins… negotiating tactics by the Bears and NFL to get best offer from Chicago to stay in the city.
