That could be very helpful, take Insight for example, the sand covered it's solar panels and rendered them useless, if we sent this tech along with Insight the probe could survive for a much longer time. Of course we would have to make major improvements to the little dust mite.

The choice of the wrong path of energy development always leads to superfluous maintenance costs. Drones, autonomous robots are terrible. A cheap magnetic perpetuum mobile does not require such trouble.
