San Jose could be 1st to require gun liability insuranceHaving liability insurance would encourage people in the 5,500 households in San Jose, California, who legally own at least one registered gun to have gun safes, install trigger locks and take gun safety classes. Should have same insurance on bats, knives, dogs, etc. Etc.... bet the criminals don't have it, guess they will offer uninsured coverage. Wow!

San Jose could be 1st in US to require gun liability insurance, city officials sayGun owners would be required to carry liability insurance and pay a fee under a proposed ordinance in the city of San Jose that officials say would be the first of its kind in the United States. San Jose is first U.S. city to mandate gun owners carry insurance and pay a fee“The point is we can reduce a lot of harm and tragedy and pain, even if we’re not going to magically make a gun fall out of the hands of the crook,” said Mayor Sam Liccardo. Home insurance. Medical insurance. Automobile insurance. We pay for all of these to protect ourselves and insulate us from liabilities. Gun insurance is common sense. No thanks! Gun restricting laws only ever impact law abiding citizens and makes them vulnerable against soft crime laws and criminals. That's a start!
