Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is listed as questionable for Game 2 of the team’s first-round playoff series against the New York Knicks due to an illness.
Maxey did not participate in the Sixers’ morning shootaround on Monday and was subsequently added to the injury report. He was the only Philadelphia player not to attend the workout. Maxey, who was named to the All-Star team this season for the first time in his career, led the Sixers with 33 points in Game 1 of the series on Saturday. The Knicks won that game, 111–104, as three New York players scored at least 21 points.
If Maxey is sidelined for Game 2, the Sixers would turn to Buddy Hield and Cameron Payne to play an increased role. Hield played 11 minutes in Game 1 and was held scoreless. Payne, acquired at the trade deadline from the Milwaukee Bucks, averaged 19.4 minutes per game in 31 appearances for Philadelphia after the trade but played less than three minutes on Saturday.Coby White is set to return and says he dodged a bullet in a nasty fall vs.
