Sirius says CEO to retire and CFO to leave

Sirius XM Holdings Inc.

said Tuesday that Chief Executive James Meyer plans to retire on Dec. 31, after eight years in the role. The satellite radio company said Jennifer Witz, currently president of sales, marketing and operations, will succeed Meyer as CEO. In addition, the company said Chief Financial Officer David Frear will be pursuing other opportunities, after 17 years in the role. Sirius appointed Sean Sullivan as CFO, effective Oct. 26. Separately, AMC Networks Inc.

announced Tuesday that Sullivan left as CFO to take a role at another company. Sirius's stock fell 0.7% in premarket trading, reversing earlier gains. It has lost 21.1% year to date through Monday, while the S&P 500 SPX, +1.27% has gained 4.7%.
